Start your Voyage - Apply Now Get to Know the OpportunityA successful Sales Development Specialist (SDS) will work closely with our External and Internal Sales Representatives within Voya Investment Management's Intermediary Distribution team to provide support to aid in the overall sales process. Each SDS will support multiple sales territories. This is an ideal entry-level position for anyone interested in starting a career with a world-class financial services company.The Contributions You Will Make

  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Regional Director (External Sales Representative), Associate Regional Directors (Hybrid Sales Representative) and Regional Coordinator (Internal Sales Representative) to maximize territory sales efforts and attain sales goals.
  • Assist with territory support activities such as scheduling meetings with Advisors, extending invitations to and coordination of attend special events, calendar related coordination, organization, and activity.
  • A professional first impression of the client experience by assisting in directing inbound calls to the proper sales channel or sales representative.
  • Assist sales team with the technical support to help fulfill requests for information including competitive analysis, literature requests, compliance submissions and other requests for information on Voya IM products and services.
  • Participate in team trainings, meetings, and calls to collaboratively work with the assigned territory teams, the SDS team and Voya IM overall.
  • Assist in the accuracy of the Salesforce Client Relationship Management (CRM) system including updating client information, research, rotation management, campaigns, and reports.
  • Assist in training and support when onboarding new employees and working with Voya's internship programs.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with firm policies and procedures while performing the role outlined above.
  • Participates in special team projects as assigned by the manager.Minimum Knowledge & Experience
    • Must have at least a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, relevant experience.
    • Current FINRA license would be a plus, but not required.
    • Strong working knowledge of popular sales software and Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
    • Professional, adaptable, collaborative, creative, self-motivated, organized, and responsible.
    • Strong written/verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail required.
    • Demonstrate an upbeat, positive attitude and have an ability to excel in a team environment.
    • Proficient time management, problem solving skills and follow up skills.Preferred Knowledge & Experience

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
