Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated IoT Systems Engineer to support the Kimberly-Clark Professional Global Research and Development Team, focusing on development, commercialization, and life cycle maintenance of dispensing systems. The role will be based in Roswell, GA and report to the Research Manager of KCP Global Dispensers R&D.

The role is critical to developing, commercializing, and maintaining robust Smart Industrial / IOT gateways, dispensers, and sensors based on customer needs that will create an exceptional customer experience. The incumbent will be a key contributor in ensuring quality and adherence to design specifications. Further, they will work closely with internal and external development partners to prototype, test, and bring new designs and/or improvements to market. This position requires an individual with the ability to think customer globally and communicate across numerous functional groups.

Working with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales teams, this person will:

  • Lead projects to ensure the quality of existing Smart Industrial / IOT dispenser systems and adherence to design specifications.
  • Partner with internal and external development teams to design, prototype, and test solutions that improve the customer experience.
  • Track customer complaints and lead customer facing technical support for advanced problems.
  • Support proactive service maintenance and problem diagnosis, along with guiding and aiding in problem remediation.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identify and kickstarting initiatives that improve stability, reliability, and availability.
  • Lead projects to develop and commercialize Smart restroom dispenser systems including gateways, dispensers, sensors, and other peripherals.
  • Develop robust timelines and manage budgets for good project control.
  • Plan and carry out project responsibilities with limited assistance and direction.
  • Communicate and document project plans and results to key stakeholders.
  • Document and protect intellectual property
    Required Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related major scientific field or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a variety of technical assignments
    • Experience in embedded systems, software, or firmware engineering with emphasis on smart Industrial IOT devices. Proficient with back-end development architecture enabling connectivity
    • Understanding of security appliances, regulatory and compliance requirements, and best practices as they relate to edge security, IoT security implications, and cloud-based web applications security
    • Knowledgeable with programming languages C, C#, and Python
    • Knowledge of communication protocols I2C, SPI, UART, or other protocols for system interface, programming, and debugging
    • Excellent end-to-end system debug skills; ability to operate a broad range of electronic test equipment
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and drive projects to completion within required timeframes, managing internal teams and external joint development partners
    • Experience in communicating with end users, business teams and management to collect requirements, describe product features and refine technical designs
    • Knowledgeable with Wifi, Bluetooth, wireshark, and cellular IOT wireless technology.
    • Experience with low power battery-based design
    • Familiar with Agile software development process and tools (Azure DevOps, Jira)

      • Experience in quality systems and design for manufacture practices
      • Experience working cross-functionally with business unit marketing and sales teams on a global basis
