CT Tech Location: Marietta, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,084 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: CT Tech Profession: Imaging Specialty: Cat Scan Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in Radiology, less than 1 year in CT preferred License: ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography, ARRT-CT - ARRT Computed Tomography Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Must-Have: Excellent communication skills are essential for interaction with physicians, patients, visitors, staff, and nursing personnel. Ability to function independently and under pressure while participating in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills are required. Must be detail-oriented with effective multitasking capabilities. Competency in all aspects of CT, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection is necessary. Description: Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams according to department procedures. Has the knowledge and ability to properly and safely obtain quality diagnostic studies. Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in utilizing equipment for diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. Able to independently perform job functions. Sets up equipment and positions patients for procedures. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Verifies proper clinician order for procedures. Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data, and assesses contraindicating conditions. Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast media. Ensures all studies have proper patient identification and right and left markers are utilized appropriately. Reviews CT/radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients. Responds to emergency situations and ensures the restocking of crash carts and maintenance of life support equipment. Assists other technologists as needed. Observes patient conditions and evaluates situations for physician intervention when necessary. Verifies correct patient identity using two unique identifiers prior to performing a procedure. Ensures patient privacy and comfort are accommodated and maintains patient dignity throughout exams. Demonstrates competence in the determination and application of appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques. Organizes schedule, time, and priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time frames. Follows instructions when assisting with procedures and exams. Demonstrates proficiency in operating power injectors. Utilizes critical thinking skills and engages in meaningful dialogue with patients and their families. Seeks clarification on ambiguous orders and understands pre-procedural verification and Time Out processes. Demonstrates understanding of pre-and-post procedural care and prepares patients accordingly. Maintains competency with venipuncture. Equipment Responsibilities: Demonstrates the ability to adjust techniques to ensure the lowest possible dose of ionizing radiation while maintaining image quality. Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisors or service providers promptly. Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment per infection control policy and cleaning schedules. Education and Communication Responsibilities: Explains the purpose and nature of exams clearly to patients to minimize anxiety and facilitate cooperation. Ensures that patients' questions and concerns are satisfactorily addressed before procedures commence. Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees. Provides patients with preparatory instructions and explanations of procedures. Ensures all required documentation is concise, legible, and uses precise terminology. Reads daily emails and follows through with assignments. Completes mandatory education without prompting. Quality Control Responsibilities: Produces acceptable images consistently, as evidenced by radiologist feedback and quality audits. Ensures equipment is operational prior to each use by checking for proper calibration and deficiencies. Sends all studies to PACS immediately after completion. Completes studies in RIS before finalizing in PACS. Operations Responsibilities: Restocks linens and supplies, maintaining department cleanliness. Transports patients and assists them on and off procedure tables. Performs patient charging on the day of service rendered. Applies shielding, supportive, and immobilization devices as needed. Lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request without prompting. Performs clerical duties when warranted to ensure continuity of services. Informs supervisors about responsibilities regularly, especially in case of potential problems. Maintains individual productivity rates consistent with co-workers. Operates workstations associated with the department effectively. Maintains Joint Commission and regulatory agency standards. Takes call when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.
