Requirements Position/Specialty : Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating
Room (OR). Start Date : ASAP. Shift : 3x12-hour shifts, days or
nights (e.g., 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; confirm with
hiring manager). Length : 13-week contract. Experience Required :
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room RN experience. Unit does not
accept first-time travelers . Certifications Required : Basic Life
Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Active
New York RN license (valid at submission; pending licenses not
accepted). Preferred : Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR). Unit
Details : Sensitive Unit : Candidates must review all details in
the job description. Service Lines (all required unless noted):
Bariatrics Urology Neurology (required) ENT Oral Plastics
Transplant (required) Ophthalmology General Surgery (required)
Gynecology (GYN, required) Orthopedics (required) Perform:
Circulating and scrubbing for surgical procedures across required
service lines. Pre-operative patient preparation, including
verification of consent and surgical site. Intra-operative support,
including instrument passing, maintaining sterile field, and
monitoring patient safety. Post-operative care, including patient
handoff to PACU and documentation. Manage high-acuity cases in a
Level II Trauma Center environment. Patient Population : Adults and
pediatrics, given Bellevue’s role as a Level II Trauma Center with
pediatric services. Weekend Requirements : Variable, to be
discussed during interview. On-Call Requirements : Variable, to be
discussed during interview (typically 1–2 shifts/month, confirm
with manager). Floating : Yes, within facility to units within
scope (e.g., other surgical units) and to outpatient areas as
needed. Requested Time Off (RTO) : Maximum 7 days, must be included
at time of submission. Holiday Requirements : Work one major
holiday if it falls during the assignment. Work both holidays if
two fall during the assignment. Work two of three holidays if three
fall during the assignment. Major Holidays (2025–2026): Memorial
Day: May 26, 2026. Independence Day: July 4, 2026. Labor Day: Sep
1, 2026. Thanksgiving/Black Friday: Nov 27–28, 2026. Christmas
Eve/Day: Dec 24–25, 2026. New Year’s Eve/Day: Dec 31, 2025–Jan 1,
2026. Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week; facility may call off
once per two-week pay period without compensation, per prior RN
roles (artifact_id: d538cb1a-9599-439d-bb53-187f091db519). Local
Candidates : Accepted, same rate (no radius specified; typically
50–75 miles, confirm with recruiter). Unit Systems : Documentation
: Epic (hard stop requirement, confirmed by prior NYC Health
Hospitals data). Medication : Pyxis (standard for OR units; confirm
with facility). Communication : SBAR for handoffs and team
coordination. Scrub Color : Provided for OR (typically green or
blue for sterility). Compliance : Full compliance required to start
on time; non-compliance delays start by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly
orientation schedule. Clinical Screen : Candidate will be reviewed
by clinical team for fit. If clinical pass and within facility
