Job Description Job Description Salary: Up to 16.00 per hour Lube Tech Up to $16.00/hour (depending on experience) Description: The Lube Technician is an integral part of the Piedmont Lube Centers/Jiffy Lube team servicing vehicles, changing oil and filters, adding fluids, performing services and routine maintenance, checking and replacing batteries and belts, checking tire pressure, as well as other duties within the shop. Lube Techs have a moderate amount of customer interaction and therefore are relied on provide excellent customer service and perform work quickly and efficiently. Depending on experience and abilities, Lube Techs may work in upper bay, lower bay, and courtesy tech roles. Many of our Lube Techs progress towards CSA and store management roles while others pursue automotive technician careers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: UPPER BAY TECHNICIAN: The Upper Bay Tech is responsible for following the upper bay and safety procedures while servicing vehicles: checking and adding oil and other fluids; changing oil filters; checking and changing air filters, cabin air filters, fuel filters, wiper blades, light bulbs, batteries and belts; servicing transmissions, radiators and differentials; rotating and balancing tires; occasional light repairs. Safety and quality inspections at completion of service are a critical function is this role. Customer contact includes performing service reviews, communicating vehicle manufacturer service recommendations to customers, and informing customers about the services we offer. Other responsibilities include greeting customers, occasional check-out duties, and courtesy technician duties. LOWER BAY TECHNICIAN: The Lower Bay Tech is responsible for following the lower bay and safety procedures while servicing vehicles from below the chassis: draining oil and other fluids; changing oil filters; servicing transmissions; servicing fuel filters; checking and servicing gear boxes; lubricating chassis; occasional light repairs. Safety and quality inspections at completion of service are a critical function is this role. Other duties include tool management, equipment maintenance, cleaning and organizing the lower bay area, and inventory control. COURTESY TECHNICIAN: This Courtesy Tech is an entry level position generally held by new team members while training for Upper Bay Tech and Lower Bay Tech roles. The Courtesy Tech is responsible for guiding vehicles into the bays; checking lights and wiper blades; checking and adjusting tire pressure, and entering vehicle information into the POS system. This position may occasionally include greeter responsibilities of welcoming customers as they arrive at the store, and informing arriving customers of the services we offer.
