qualifications. Job Summary / Description: The Senior Inventory
Accountant is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timely
reporting of all inventory-related financial activity. This role
oversees inventory transactions across purchasing, receipts,
in-transit movements, reserves, cost changes, and valuation while
ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The position
leads inventory-related month-end close processes, supports audits,
and partners cross-functionally with operations and supply chain
teams to improve reporting efficiency and financial visibility. Key
Responsibilities: Inventory Accounting Management Oversee
end-to-end inventory accounting processes and ensure accurate
transaction recording. Reconcile inventory accounts and validate
inventory movements. Analyze inventory variances, identify root
causes, and recommend corrective actions. Manage purchasing,
receipts, in-transit inventory, reserves, adjustments, cost
changes, and valuation. Month-End Close Lead inventory-related
close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and
reconciliations. Prepare and analyze inventory financial reports
for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with operations and
supply chain teams to resolve discrepancies. Process Improvement &
Internal Controls Identify and implement process improvements to
enhance reporting efficiency. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal
controls, and company accounting policies. Support internal and
external audits, including inventory control reviews. Financial
Reporting & Analysis Provide detailed inventory reporting and
analysis to support decision-making. Monitor inventory turnover,
obsolescence, reserves, and valuation adjustments. Support ad hoc
financial analysis related to inventory and SG&A as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or
related field required. CPA or CMA preferred. 5 years of inventory
accounting or financial reporting experience. Strong knowledge of
inventory accounting principles and GAAP. Experience with SAP and
advanced Excel skills. Proven ability to implement process
improvements. Strong analytical, organizational, and
cross-functional communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments. Knowledge
of inventory costing methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average).
